    Stamp Duty Holiday Extension Update

As announced in the budget speech earlier this year, the stamp duty tax holiday has been extended until the end of June 2021. What does this mean for homebuyers?

If you’re buying a property in England, Northern Ireland or Wales, you could save up to £15,000. With stamp duty tax relief you won’t have to pay a penny unless the property is over £500,000. This applies to home movers and first-time buyers only.

After July, the tax relief will be gradually phased out until October when the previous threshold of £125,000 will be reinstated. We can inform you whether you’re eligible for this tax exemption and help factor it into your overall budget costs.

Help to Buy Scheme Extension Update

The Help to Buy is set to end on 31 March 2021. However, home buyers using the current scheme will have until 31 May 2021 to complete their purchase.

This 2 month extension allows homebuilders to complete the build and for homebuyers to complete the legal process and get the keys to their home.

    Mortgage Interest Rates Update

With interest rates having been reduced to a more attractive 0.1%, if you’ve been considering a remortgage now could be a good time. Speak to one of our specialist conveyancers about a remortgage today.
